Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress, who has worked in film and TV is best known for films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her showbiz career at a young age. The actress was in lead roles in television dramas from as early when she was just 16. She was praised for her portrayal as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way for other unforgettable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the actress. Alexandra was involved in various notable films, at both a national and international level. They include the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historic mini-series Napoleon in addition to other projects. She was also on the jury at the Transylvania International Film Festival, and was also a juror at Cannes Film Festival.
